RYT 200 Yoga Instructor
Laura was introduced to yoga over a decade ago and she's never looked back. Ashtanga got a hold of her with its highly focused, very disciplined and structured practice. Exploring other approaches such as Bikram, Kundalini, Power and Vinyasa Flow lead her to have a great affinity for the freedom and dynamism of the Vinyasa Flow practice.
Laura was drawn to yoga because it challenged her to be fully present allowing an increased sense of body awareness while grounding and calming of the mind. Yoga continues to affect Laura's life off the mat as she embodies the philosophy teachings and incorporates holistic health into her day-to-day life.
Laura’s approach to teaching yoga is to simply be a source of direction and inspiration, while leaving space for students to find their inner teacher and realize the healing benefits of yoga both on and off the mat. She guides students through a fluid physical practice encouraging a playful sense of curiosity and exploration. Drawing from various styles of yoga, Laura's flows are unique, dynamic and are an energetic expression of yoga that emphasize clarity of alignment and a steady connection to the breath. She encourages her students to play with their edge, while providing a safe, encouraging, and nonjudgmental environment where each individual can work to their full potential.
Being raised in the Canadian Rockies Laura has a deep connection to the outdoors. Outside of yoga Laura enjoys an array of outdoor pursuits including hiking, mountain biking, tennis, climbing, skiing...but most important is Laura's time with her husband Adam and daughter Amira. Off her mat, Laura can also be found making jewellery and mixing essential oil potions.
